Café Etc

Café Etc is your typical steak and bistro bar located along the Sin Ming stretch of Upper Thomson Road. Founded by Singaporean restaurateur Alam Shah, it offers a laid back and casual dining experience in a chic interior or al fresco on the terrace. This Halal-certified restaurant does not charge GST and is an ideal spot for a first date or simply to catch up with friends over a meal.

Café Etc is particularly famed for its steak that is served with Mesclun salad, garlic mashed potato and a sauce of your choice. You are highly encouraged to order the Filet Mignon, an Australian Grass Fed Beef Tenderloin that is grilled to perfection. This is definitely one of the most balanced steaks you’ll ever have had and complements well with black pepper sauce. They also serve other main dishes such as baked rice and pastas, burgers and fish and poultry. Some of these dishes include Salted Egg Carbonara, Wagyu Burger, Norwegian Salmon Fillet and Teriyaki Chicken Baked Rice. Riding on the wave of salted egg, their Salted Egg Carbonara is tossed with creamy and savory salted egg sauce with mushroom and turkey bacon. The flavor is well balanced and does not leave a greasy after taste. This is definitely a must try for all Salted Egg lovers. Café Etc also offers an extensive range of appetizers, such as in-house marinated chicken wings, fries and salad that is bound to set your spoilt for choices.

All in all, Café Etc is definitely worth your while if you’re looking for quality food and excellent service admist a casual setting. No doubt, it is one of the top mid-range steak houses in Singapore. I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes one of your favourite places, too.
