Haru Haru Japanese Restaurant is a cozy, traditional Japanese eatery, which serves up a wide variety of fresh seafood, flown in twice weekly according to customers’ demand. Even their wagyu beef is flown in regularly, and has never been frozen before. They are well-known for their grilled wagyu dish, the Wagyu Tataki, which is extremely tender and has a umami taste, a popular dish amongst diners.
If you are feeling generous, order the sashimi platter. It is well worth the price as it contains premium, seasonal sashimi such as Otoro, Chutoro, Uni and Hotate. The thick slices of sashimi have a delicious melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the itoyori is very meaty in flavor. If you prefer a dish to yourself, order the Chirashi Don, which consists of an array of perfectly sliced salmon, mackerel, tuna and other seafood delights atop a bed of soft fluffy Japanese rice. Other specialty dishes are the Aburi Sushi and Haru Roll, which are perfectly rolled sushi, with an assortment of different seafood namely scallop, prawn, squid, tuna, swordfish and salmon which are lightly grilled to bring out the smokiness with the flavors of the various fishes. The Haru Roll features a generous topping of fresh salmon, salmon roe and creamy mayonnaise, along with crab meat and avocado, which you will definitely savor.
Besides fresh sashimi dishes, they serve up a variety of special appetizers such as foie gras soup; a clear soup with generous chunks of mushroom and foie gras, and other seafood delicacies such as marinated puffer fish, white bait and grilled stingray fin, if you prefer your seafood more cooked. The wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes and generous thick slices of sashimi keep customers coming back for more! Even though Haru Haru is situated in a neighbourhood mall, the warm atmosphere and cozy ambience is extremely inviting and great for dates and intimate family gatherings.
