Maguro-Donya, the first of its numerous branches from Japan, has arrived in Singapore with a bang! They are the only Japanese restaurant to import the whole blue fin Maguro to Singapore, and you can only imagine how fresh the items on the menu is.
It is definitely a must-try at the restaurant, with options such as the three cuts of maguro sashimi (chuttoro, ottoro and akami), or opt to order the five cuts of maguro sashimi which includes two more cuts, the kamatoro(cheek) and Toumi (head) for extremely reasonable and value for money prices. Another in-house creation, the Megumi Hon Maguro Gunkan is another delicious, tuna belly sushi dish, which is generously heaped with chopped tuna belly, atop a bed of fluffy rice. The ratio of fish to rice is perfect.
Besides the fresh fish, try the blue fin grilled collar which is flavourful and moist, another specialty with of the restaurant. The restaurant promises an authentic Japanese experience, after all, what could be better than fish freshly flown in from Japan frequently. It is well worth a try and can definitely compare with many high end Japanese restaurants in Singapore.
